> How to plan social media posts in the Aigio Calendar by month, week, day or as a list, change or delete them, and publish them.

Source: https://guide.aigio.ai/calendar

The **Calendar** shows the social media posts you plan for this workspace, on the day and time you want them to go out. You can see them by month, week, day or as a list.

Posts get into your Calendar in two ways:

- **From Content Calendar.** When you approve a campaign in **Tools** > **Content Calendar**, its posts are added here. See [Content Calendar](https://guide.aigio.ai/tools/content-calendar).
- **By hand.** You add a post yourself with **New event**.

Each post has a platform (for example Instagram), a content type (for example Reel), a date and time, a caption and hashtags. You can change or delete any post.

> **The Calendar is your plan:** A post in the Calendar does not go out on its own. When you are ready to publish it, open it and click **Create post**.

## At a glance

- **Open the Calendar:** Left sidebar > **Calendar**, or click a day in the small calendar on the right
- **Change the view:** View menu > **Month** / **Week** / **Day** / **Agenda**
- **Add a post:** **New event** > Choose platform and type > Pick date and time > Type the caption > **Add event**
- **Change a post:** Click the post > Change the fields > **Save changes**
- **Publish a post:** Click the post > **Create post** > Choose the account > Publish, schedule or save a draft
- **Delete a post:** Click the post > Bin button > **Delete**

## Open the Calendar

In the left sidebar, under **Favourites**, click **Calendar**.

The **Calendar** page opens in **Month** view on the current month. Today has a blue circle.

Each post shows on its day with its time, platform and type, for example "12:30am Instagram · Reel". The colour shows the platform: for example, Instagram posts are red and LinkedIn posts are green.

You can also click a day in the small calendar on the right. The page then opens in **Day** view on that date. See [Use the small calendar](https://guide.aigio.ai/finding-your-way-around#use-the-small-calendar).

## Move between dates

- Click the left or right arrow to go back or forward. The arrows move by one month in **Month** view, one week in **Week** view, one day in **Day** view, and 30 days in **Agenda** view.
- Click **Today** to come back to today.

The title next to the arrows shows where you are, for example "October 2026".

## Change the view

1. Click the view menu next to **New event**. It shows the view you are in, for example **Month**.
2. Choose a view:

| View | What you see | Shortcut key |
|---|---|---|
| **Month** | The whole month as a grid | **M** |
| **Week** | Seven days, with the hours down the side | **W** |
| **Day** | One day, with the hours down the side | **D** |
| **Agenda** | A list of posts for the next 30 days, grouped by day | **A** |

You can also press the shortcut key. The keys don't work while you are typing in a box or while a post is open.

In **Week** view, the time zone is shown at the top left, for example "GMT+5:30". Posts use your computer's time zone.

If the **Agenda** has no posts in its 30 days, you see **No events found**. Click **Today** or the arrows to look at other dates.

## Add a post

1. Click **New event** at the top right. The **Add event** panel opens on the right, set to today at 09:00.
   - Or, in **Month** view, click an empty part of a day. The panel opens on that day at 09:00.
2. In **Platform**, choose where the post will go: **Instagram**, **Facebook**, **X / Twitter**, **LinkedIn**, **YouTube** or **Pinterest**.
3. In **Content type**, choose the kind of post. The choices depend on the platform (see the table below).
4. Click **Date** and pick the day.
5. In **Time**, set the time.
6. In **Caption**, type the text of the post.
7. In **Hashtags**, type any hashtags, separated by spaces, for example "#launch #summer". This is optional.
8. Click **Add event**.

The panel closes and the post appears in the Calendar. Its day also turns blue in the small calendar on the right.

To close the panel without adding a post, click **Cancel** or the **X**.

| Platform | Content types |
|---|---|
| **Instagram** | Feed post, Carousel, Story, Reel |
| **Facebook** | Feed post, Story, Reel |
| **X / Twitter** | Post |
| **LinkedIn** | Text post, Image post, Video post, Document post |
| **YouTube** | Video, Short |
| **Pinterest** | Image pin, Video pin |

## Read or change a post

1. Click a post in any view. The **Edit event** panel opens on the right.
2. Read the post. For posts from **Content Calendar**, **Caption** holds the full brief, such as the idea, the specs and the shot list.
3. To change the post, edit any field. **Save changes** becomes active when you change something.
4. Click **Save changes**. The panel closes and the post moves to its new date or time.

To close without changing anything, click **Cancel** or the **X**.

## Publish a post from the Calendar

You need a connected account on the post's platform. See [Connect an account](https://guide.aigio.ai/social-accounts#connect-an-account).

1. Click the post. The **Edit event** panel opens.
2. Click **Create post**. The **Create post** box opens, filled in from the Calendar post:
   - **Account** lists only your accounts on that platform.
   - **Text** holds the caption and hashtags. For posts from **Content Calendar**, the caption can be a full brief, so edit it down to the words you want people to see.
   - If the post's date is in the future, **When** is set to **Schedule** at that date and time. Otherwise it is set to **Publish now**.
3. Check the details, and add images or videos with **Add media** if you need them.
4. Click the button at the bottom: **Publish now**, **Schedule post** or **Save draft**.

You see **Post created.** The new post appears in **Social Posts**, and the post in the Calendar stays as it is. See [Social Posts](https://guide.aigio.ai/social-posts).

If you have no account on that platform, you see a message such as **No connected Instagram account**. Click **Connect an account**.

> **YouTube can't be published yet:** You can plan YouTube posts in the Calendar, but YouTube is not one of the accounts you can connect, so you can't publish them from Aigio.

## Delete a post

1. Click the post. The **Edit event** panel opens.
2. Click the red bin button at the bottom left. The **Delete event?** box opens.
3. Click **Delete** to remove the post, or **Keep** to go back.

The post is removed from the Calendar.

> **This cannot be undone:** Deleting a post can't be undone. If the post came from **Content Calendar**, you'd have to add it again by hand.

## What the error messages mean

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Caption is required." | Type the text of the post in **Caption**. |
| "Pick a date." | Click **Date** and pick a day. |
| "Pick a time." | Set a time in **Time**. |
| "Select a content type." | Choose a type in **Content type**. |
| **Could not load events** | Click **Retry**. If it keeps happening, raise a ticket in [Help & Support](https://guide.aigio.ai/help-and-support). |
| "Could not move this event." | The post went back to where it was. Try again, or change the date in **Edit event**. |
| An error in red under the fields | Try again later. |

## Tips

- Use **Agenda** view for a quick list of what's coming up.
- Click a blue day in the small calendar on the right to go straight to that day's posts.
- Plan a whole campaign with **Tools** > **Content Calendar**, then fine-tune each post here.
- Check the time and type of each post from **Content Calendar** before you use it. Change them in **Edit event** if needed.
- Everyone in the workspace sees and can change the same Calendar.
