# Members and roles

> How to invite people to an Aigio workspace, accept an invitation, remove a member, and what owners and members can do.

Source: https://guide.aigio.ai/members

**Members** lets you invite other people to work in your workspace with you. You type their name and email, and Aigio sends them an email invitation.

The page shows two lists:

- **Members**: people who accepted your invitation.
- **Pending invitations**: people you invited who haven't joined yet.

## At a glance

- **Open Members:** Left sidebar > **Members** (near the bottom)
- **Invite someone:** **Invite member** > Type the name and email > **Send invite** > They appear under **Pending invitations**
- **Join a workspace:** Open the invitation email > Sign in > **Accept invitation**
- **Remove someone:** Bin icon on their row > **Remove**

## Your account and your workspaces

- Your **account** is you: your name, email and password. You use the same account in every workspace. You change it in [Account settings](https://guide.aigio.ai/account-settings).
- A **workspace** is one brand. You can have several workspaces, and you can work in workspaces other people invite you to.

## Owner and members

Aigio has no roles to set up. Each workspace has two kinds of people:

| Who | How they get access | What they can do |
|---|---|---|
| **Owner** | Creates the workspace. Each workspace has one owner. | Everything in the workspace, including deleting it. |
| **Member** | Is invited by email from the **Members** page. | Every feature in the workspace, the same as the owner. |

Only the owner sees **Delete** for a workspace on the **Your workspaces** page.

Work in a workspace is shared. Everyone in it sees the same Brand overview, documents, content, Calendar and files. Your name, as set in **Account settings**, is shown to the members of your workspaces.

> **Only invite people you trust:** Every member can use every feature, including generating, approving and deleting content, and publishing to your connected social accounts. Only invite people you trust with your brand.

## Open Members

In the left sidebar, click **Members**. It's near the bottom, above **Help & Support**.

The **Members** page opens. If nobody has joined yet, you see **No members yet**.

## Invite a member

1. Click **Invite member** at the top right. The **Invite member** box opens.
2. In **Name**, type the person's name.
3. In **Email**, type their email address.
4. Click **Send invite**. The button shows **Inviting...** while it sends.

The box closes and the person appears under **Pending invitations** with a **pending** label. Aigio sends them an email invitation.

If you leave a field blank or type an email that isn't valid, you see "Name is required." or "Enter a valid email address.". Fix it and click **Send invite** again.

To close the box without inviting anyone, click **Cancel**.

## Join a workspace you've been invited to

1. Open the invitation email and click the link.
2. Sign in with the email address the invitation was sent to. If you don't have an Aigio account yet, create one with that address. See [Create an account](https://guide.aigio.ai/signing-in#create-an-account).
3. The **Join** page opens and names the workspace.
4. Click **Accept invitation**. The workspace opens.

If you don't want to join, click **Decline**. To join after declining, ask for a new invitation.

If you are signed in with a different email address, Aigio tells you which address the invitation was sent to. Click **Switch account**, then sign in with that address.

If you see **Invitation not found**, the link is not valid or has expired. Ask for a new invitation.

## Cancel an invitation

1. Under **Pending invitations**, click the red bin icon on the person's row. A box asks **Cancel invitation?**
2. Click **Cancel invitation** to cancel it, or **Keep** to leave it as it is.

When you cancel it, the person can no longer use that invitation to join.

> **This cannot be undone:** Cancelling an invitation can't be undone. To invite the person again, send a new invitation.

## Remove a member

1. Under **Members**, click the red bin icon on the person's row. A box asks **Remove member?**
2. Click **Remove**, or **Keep** to leave them in the workspace.

The person loses access to this workspace. To let them back in, send a new invitation.

## What the error messages mean

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Name is required." | Type the person's name. |
| "Enter a valid email address." | Check the email for typos, for example a missing **@**. |
| An error in red above **Send invite** | Try again. If it keeps happening, contact support. |

## Tips

- Check the email address before you click **Send invite**. The invitation only works for that address.
