# Profiling & Engineering

> How to generate, review and approve sub-modules in Aigio Profiling & Engineering, and what each of the 19 brand modules covers.

Source: https://guide.aigio.ai/profiling-and-engineering

**Profiling & Engineering** is where Aigio studies your brand in depth and helps you plan its future. It has two parts, called heads. Each head has a set of modules, and each module is split into smaller sections called sub-modules. Aigio writes each sub-module for your brand, and you review and approve it.

| Head | What it is for |
|---|---|
| **Brand Discovery & Profiling** | Finds out what is true about your brand today. Seven modules look at the brand from different angles and build an evidence-based picture, then compare it with how the brand sees itself. |
| **Brand Engineering Strategy** | Builds the plans and systems to move the brand where it wants to go. Twelve modules cover rules, measurement, people, budget, risk and roadmaps, so the strategy can actually be carried out. |

## At a glance

- **Open a module:** Left sidebar > **Profiling & Engineering** > Click a head > Click a module
- **Generate a sub-module:** Click a sub-module > **Start generating** > Tick files (or **Skip**) > **Continue** > Answer the questions > **Generate**
- **Review:** Read the content > **Approve**, or **Regenerate**
- **Change part of it:** Select text > Suggest a change > **Add to changes** > **Regenerate**

## The modules in Brand Discovery & Profiling

| Module | What it covers |
|---|---|
| **Brand Foundation Strategy** | The core of the brand: who it is, where it came from, its purpose, values, structure, positioning and the value it has built. Every other module builds on it, so start here. |
| **Content and Communication Strategy** | How the brand speaks today: its story, tone of voice, content plan, channels, past campaigns, and whether its messages are consistent and adding up over time. |
| **Digital Marketing Strategy** | The brand's websites and online marketing: the customer journey, conversions, paid ads, marketing tools, tracking, customer retention and online sales, and whether the numbers can be trusted. |
| **Social Media Strategy** | How the brand performs on social media: presence, results, community, and how much it depends on any one platform. It separates a real community from people who only watch. |
| **Creative Visual Strategy** | Everything people see and hear from the brand: logo system, colours, fonts, photography, packaging, sound and spaces, and whether it is recognisable even without the logo. |
| **SEO, GEO and AEO Strategy** | How people find the brand through search engines, AI assistants and answer boxes, including what AI tools say about the brand. |
| **Commercial and Growth Strategy** | The business behind the brand: how it makes money, its range, pricing, margins, sales channels, market, competitors and what limits growth. |

## The modules in Brand Engineering Strategy

| Module | What it covers |
|---|---|
| **Brand Governance & Control Architecture** | The rules that keep the brand consistent across teams, markets and time: who decides what, brand guidelines, asset control, compliance, and protecting the brand's distinctive assets. |
| **Measurement, Intelligence & Performance Architecture** | How to measure brand performance properly: which metrics matter, tracking, attribution, how strong the evidence is, and reports suited to each audience. |
| **Organisational Capability & Resourcing Architecture** | The people who carry out the strategy: skills, ways of working, who is accountable, agency partners, and keeping knowledge in the business. |
| **Investment, Budget & Planning Architecture** | How money and effort are planned and reviewed: budget structure, allocation, the split between brand and performance spend, the planning cycle and investment checkpoints. |
| **Innovation, Roadmap & Portfolio Evolution** | What the brand does next: new ideas, checking they fit the brand, product roadmap, changes to the range, launches and brand extensions. |
| **Purpose, ESG & Corporate Citizenship Engineering** | Social and environmental commitments that stand up to scrutiny: what matters most, backed-up claims, proof, avoiding overclaiming, and putting purpose into action. |
| **Risk, Resilience & Reputations Engineering** | Preparing for things going wrong: risk lists, crisis plans, who escalates what, early warnings, and rebuilding after a crisis. |
| **Growth Ambition & Expansion Engineering** | Where the brand wants to grow: written growth goals, ways to expand, entering new markets, category strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and exit readiness. |
| **Decision, Constraint & Implementability Engineering** | The real-world limits on the strategy: who has authority, buy-in, rules, red lines and resistance, plus a roadmap that makes the recommendations doable. |
| **Reality Gap & Strategic Calibration** | Measures the gap between what the brand believes about itself and what the evidence shows, then turns it into a prioritised list of fixes with a confidence level for each. |
| **Adaptive Intelligence & Living Profile Engineering** | Keeps your brand profile up to date over time. |
| **Entity-Specific Engineering Overlays** | Extra modules for specific types of brand: creators, startups, small businesses (MSMEs), large enterprises and product brands. |

## Open a module

1. In the left sidebar, under **Profiling & Engineering**, click **Brand Discovery & Profiling** or **Brand Engineering Strategy**.
2. The sidebar now lists the modules in that head. Point to a cut-off name to see it in full.
3. Click a module. Its page opens with a short description and a card for each sub-module.

To go back to the main sidebar, click the back arrow next to the head's name at the top of the sidebar.

## Generate a sub-module

1. On a module page, click a sub-module card. A box opens. If nothing has been written yet, it shows **Nothing generated yet**.
2. Click **Start generating**. The files step opens.
3. Tick the files Aigio should read for this sub-module, up to 25. Only ticked files are read. You can also click **Add files** to upload new ones. Point to **View supported formats** to see which files you can add.
4. Choose one:
   - Click **Continue** to generate from the ticked files. The button shows **Saving…**, then **Reading your files…**.
   - Click **Skip** to generate without any files.
   - Click **Back** to return without generating.
5. Wait while the box shows **Generating…**. This can take a minute. You can close the box and come back later.

## Answer Aigio's questions

Aigio may ask you a few questions about your brand before it writes the sub-module. The top of the box shows which question you are on, for example **Question 1 of 5**.

1. Read the question.
2. Answer it in one of these ways:
   - Click one of the answers. A round button means you can pick one answer.
   - If the question says **Select all that apply**, tick every answer that fits.
   - Type your own answer in **Or add your own answer…**.
3. Click **Next**. To change an earlier answer, click **Previous**.
4. On the last question, click **Generate**. Aigio writes the sub-module.

Every question needs an answer. If you skip one, you see **Answer this to continue.**

## Read a sub-module

When Aigio has finished, the box shows the sub-module:

- A short summary at the top.
- Number cards with key figures, each with a short explanation.
- The full write-up, in sections. Scroll down to read it all.

> **Check before you approve:** Generated content may include facts Aigio could not check. It says so in the text. Review it before you approve or share it.

## Copy or download a sub-module

- To copy the text, click the copy icon (**Copy markdown**) at the top right. A message confirms **Copied to clipboard**.
- To save a file, click the download icon (**Download**) and choose **Markdown (.md)** or **PDF (.pdf)**. Aigio saves a file named after the sub-module.

## Approve a sub-module

The bottom of the box asks **Approve this content?**.

1. Read the content.
2. Click **Approve** if you are happy with it.

The question and the **Approve** button go away. Only **Regenerate** stays, so you can still ask for a new version later.

## Change part of a sub-module

1. Select the text you want changed. The **Suggest a change** box opens above it.
2. Type what you want in **Changes**.
3. Click **Add to changes**. Your note is added to the **Regenerate** box.
4. Repeat for any other parts you want changed.
5. Click **Regenerate** at the bottom, then **Regenerate** in the box.

Press **Ctrl+Enter** (**Cmd+Enter** on a Mac) to add a change without clicking.

## Regenerate a sub-module

1. Click **Regenerate** at the bottom of the box. The **Regenerate content** box opens.
2. Describe the change you want, for example "Make it more concise and add examples". Or leave it empty to try again as is.
3. Click **Regenerate**.

> **A new version replaces the old one:** A new version replaces the text in the box.

## What the error messages mean

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| **Answer this to continue.** | Pick or type an answer to the question, then click **Next**. |
| **Up to 25 files can be used. Untick some to continue.** | Untick files until 25 or fewer are ticked. |
| **AI service authentication failed** | Aigio could not reach its writing service. Click **Try again**. If it keeps happening, contact support. |

## Tips

- **Start with Brand Foundation Strategy.** The other modules build on it and give better results once it is done.
- Tick only the files that matter for the sub-module, such as brand guidelines or annual reports. It keeps the result focused.
- Answer the questions as accurately as you can. Aigio uses your answers in the write-up and points out where they differ from other evidence.
- Collect several changes with **Suggest a change** before you click **Regenerate**. You get one new version with all of them.
